A total of six Slovak scientists are involved in the European Solar Telescope (EST) project, an accomplishment that will impact scientific progress at the Slovak Academy of Sciences' (SAV) Astronomy Department, its head Peter Gomory said on Monday. According to Gomory, this will make it as attractive as possible to land a scientific job at the department. "We'll have our own observation time on this instrument, and guaranteed access to unique observations, therefore," he told TASR, adding that the SAV's involvement opens up the possibility of direct participation in cutting-edge science.
