SaS calls on MP Herak to give up seat in House over charges of abusing minor

The coalition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party has called on MP Jan Herak to yield his seat, saying it would be the right move in connection with charges of abusing a minor that have been pressed against him. The case of MP Herak, charged with sexually abusing a minor girl, draws society's attention to the still imperfect system of coordinated help for women and other victims of domestic violence as well as the prevention system, SaS caucus chair Anna Zemanova said. "It's really unfortunate that, on the one hand, there's the presumption of innocence, but then there are victims whose testimonies are questioned," she said.
