The coalition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party is against an Interior Ministry-sponsored bill that would allow the police to breach banking and correspondence secrecy when it comes to identifying individuals suspected of property-related crimes, and the party is ready to veto this part of the amendment to the Police Corps Act at a session of the Coalition Council. According to the bill, the police could use such authorisation, for example, when it comes to fraud or when searching for stolen mobile phones. Currently, this is only possible in the process of clearing up crimes.
