Salaries of Czech politicians, judges, prosecutors may be frozen

January 4th, 2022

The salaries of senior politicians, judges and public prosecutors may remain the same as last year under the proposed freezing of their base pay, drafted by the Czech labour and social affairs ministry and published by the government on its webpage on Tuesday. Labour and Social Affairs Minister Marian Jurecka has asked the government to deal with the proposal at its next meeting. However, it is not yet on the agenda of the Wednesday cabinet meeting. The salaries of senior politicians, judges and public prosecutors are derived from the base pay, depending on the average salary two years ago.
