Salaries in Slovak industry up 5.6 pc in Jan

The average nominal salary in January increased in pubs and restaurants by 12.6 percent year-on-year to 564 euros, the Statistics Office reported on Thursday. Other y-o-y increases in nominal salaries in January were: in retail - 8.9 percent to 805 euros; in transport and warehousing - 6.4 percent to 1,055 euros; in industry - 5.6 percent to 1,171 euros; in selected market services - 5.1 percent to 1,026 euros; in the IT sector - 4.7 percent to 1,992 euros; in accommodation - 2.8 percent to 797 euros; in construction - 2.2 percent to 726 euros; and in wholesale - 1.4 percent to 1,080 euros.
