The manner in which the coalition intends to choose new Police Corps presidents will be "the opposite of an apolitical selection process", independent MP and ex-interior minister Denisa Sakova has said. "The coalition agreement according to which the police chief will be hand-picked by the interior minister, with the minister also able to dismiss them at any point, is the exact opposite of [the coalition's previous] statement that the selection should be apolitical," she wrote on Facebook. "Another thing I find strange is that such an important change will be proposed via an MPs proposal instead of a government one, as if the government has completely ceased to function."
