Slovakia's dominant power utility Slovenske elektrarne and Russian state-owned nuclear fuel producer TVEL in Moscow on Wednesday signed a contract on nuclear fuel supplies for nuclear power stations in Slovakia, SE has announced. The contract with TVEL is a result of an international tender and has been signed for the 2022-26 period with the option of an extension until 2030. The fuel will be used at the Mochovce and Jaslovske Bohunice power stations, including the two Mochovce reactor blocks that are currently under construction. Would-be suppliers from all over the world joined the international tender, which was launched in mid-2018 under the supervision of the Euratom Supply Agency.
