Ruling party likely to win parliamentary elections - poll

September 16th, 2019

Voter support for Poland's ruling Law and Justice in the latest poll by the Pollster public opinion research centre reached 45 percent, the Super Express daily reported on Monday. The Law and Justice (PiS) party leads the United Right comprising Solidary Poland and Agreement. According to the daily, voter support for PiS has remained unchanged since the beginning of September. Its main opponent, the Civic Coalition, was supported by 26 percent of the voters. The Civic Coalition comprises the Civic Platform (PO), Nowoczesna, the Greens and Polish Initiative. With 14 percent of the vote, the Left coalition of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD), Left Together and Spring, would be the third grouping to cross the five-percent parliamentary threshold. The Polish People's Party-Polish Coalition could count on 8 percent of the vote.
