Lawmakers of the governing coalition called on MPs from the opposition Smer-SD party in parliament on Tuesday to withdraw their proposal aimed at the protection of cyclists, as they are preparing their own proposal. Parliamentary Chair Boris Kollar denied that a race is on to see who can submit a proposal first. He underlined that the opposition's amendment lacked the opinions of competent ministries. Meanwhile, OLaNO MP Romana Tabak has been working on the same proposal for a long time, and she's also discussed it with the respective ministries. The parliamentary chief agrees with the need to amend legislation in this field, but he doesn't want the vote on Smer-SD's proposal to block the issue for six months.
