January 7th, 2022
Traffic accidents claimed 470 lives in the Czech Republic in 2021 and they had ten more victims than in 2020 when 459 people died on the roads, and simultaneously the second lowest death toll since the beginning of records in 1961, Czech traffic police chief Jiri Zly told CTK on Friday. Police president deputy Martin Vondrasek stressed that the last two years cannot be compared with regular traffic as they were heavily affected by the coronavirus epidemic marking the intensity of the traffic, for instance.
