Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish prime minister, has accused Vladimir Putin of unravelling 30 years of peace and prosperity in Central and Eastern Europe and returning it to "gloomy times" with the threat of aggression against Ukraine. Morawiecki posted a video to his Facebook account in Polish and English on Friday in which he said "certain values are non-negotiable. "Among them, it is a nation's right to decide its own destiny," Morawiecki said in the video. "After all, freedom and sovereignty are the very bedrock of western civilisation."
