The extra-parliamentary Progressive Slovakia (PS) party on Thursday introduced a proposed motion called climate cheque, a series of measures aimed at combating energy poverty and lending a helping hand to those who are affected by growing energy charges. "What is important is the simplicity of our proposal. The state would pay an equal sum to everyone in Slovakia irrespective of their age in regular intervals, which could be monthly or yearly, for instance. The median value for 2021-30 has been set at 127 per capita per year, which is 508 for a four-member family per year on average," explained MEP and Progressive Slovakia member Martin Hojsik.
