President Zeman signs 2021 budget gap increase to 500 billion

February 23rd, 2021

Czech President Milos Zeman today signed the amendment raising the 2021 state budget deficit from the originally passed 320 billion crowns to 500 billion, his office has told CTK. The increase encompasses the impact of the government's tax package that reduces the individual income tax and was passed by parliament in late December. In addition, the cabinet plans a new compensation bonus for entrepreneurs and other expenditures within its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
