President admits mistake in bestowing state awards on White Legion members

President Zuzana Caputova admitted making a mistake in the process of assessing the state award for members of the White Legion - Anton Tunega, Albert Pucik and Eduard Tesar, declaring that she'll do everything possible to ensure that similar controversies doesn't recur in the future, Caputova's spokesman Martin Strizinec told TASR on Wednesday. "State awards should be given to people whose life story can't provoke a dispute about whether they served democracy. I'll do everything I can to avoid similar controversies in the future," she said.
