Prague school challenges order to resume regular instruction

February 24th, 2021

The Prague Na Zatlance grammar school has filed a cassation complaint against the valid verdict by the Prague Municipal Court ordering the school to resume regular daily instruction amid the coronavirus epidemic, its defence lawyer told public Czech TV (CT) on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the court banned distance teaching to the grammar school, which it had provided since October 5, 2020, along with other schools in the Czech Republic, on the basis of the government's anti-coronavirus measures. The court ruled that the government's crisis measures had arisen from the state of emergency over the coronavirus epidemic that was declared in conflict with the constitution. The court thus met an administrative complaint lodged by the school's first-year student.
