Prague commemorates people abducted to Soviet gulags after WWII

May 11th, 2022

A meeting in Prague today commemorated the people who were murdered or dragged away to the gulags forced labour camps by the SMERSH Soviet counter-intelligence from the then Czechoslovakia, where they fled from the Bolsheviks, after WWII. The event was attended by the representatives of Prague, the Prague 6 district, the foreign and culture ministries, the Czech Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (USTR), the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the relatives of the victims.
