Polish president stresses need to protect EU borders in Budapest

President Andrzej Duda has told his Hungarian counterpart that Poland has a duty to protect the EU border from illegal migration owing to hundreds of migrants trying to get into Poland from Belarus. Speaking after a meeting with President Janos Ader in Budapest, Duda said that "Poland takes its duty to protect the European Union's and the Schengen Zone's border very seriously." Poland's border with Belarus is also the eastern border of the EU and the passport-free Schengen zone. Duda thanked Ader for saying that he would "share Hungary's experience from a few years ago, when there was an enormous pressure on the Hungarian border."
