Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and US Vice-President Mike Pence signed in Warsaw on Monday a declaration regarding the security of the building of a 5G network. The 5G network is a new telecommunications standard offering up to a hundred times more data transmission capacity than the present 4G system. 5G technology is expected to speed up the growth of the Internet of Things, tele-medical services, driverless vehicle technology and smart cities. Earlier, government spokesperson Piotr Mueller said that after the declaration it was time to move on to more detailed issues, namely, "scientific research in this field and security framework for the new telecommunications network".
