Polish firm launches first genetic Covid test from saliva sample

Genomtec, a Polish stock-listed biotechnology firm, has registered and launched in the EU a kit for genetically testing for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a saliva sample. In its press release, Genomtec pointed out that in addition to a greater comfort and convenience for patients, due to the lack of swabbing, saliva testing also reduces the chances of transmission of Covid-19 to medical personnel.
