Polish EU commissioner candidate vows to defend strong agricultural budget

Poland's EU agriculture commissioner candidate, Janusz Wojciechowski, declared during a Tuesday hearing that EU agriculture must be competitive in order to ensure food security to 500 million EU citizens. Last week, the European Parliament's agriculture committee failed to give Wojciechowski a green light for the EU agriculture commissioner's seat. "I will be defending a strong and responsible budget for agriculture and development of rural areas in order to create new jobs and decent living conditions," Wojciechowski said.
