Poland's energy and climate policy are built on common sense, the aim being a considerable reduction of the country's dependence on coal and, simultaneously, maintaining energy security and low energy prices, PM Mateusz Morawiecki told a Tuesday press conference in Warsaw. In reaction to French President Emmanuel Macron's criticism of Poland as a country hindering the EU's environmental efforts, Morawiecki noted that Poland has outperformed the Kyoto Protocol's 6 percent emission reduction goal, cutting down its greenhouse emissions by more than 30 percent over the past 20 years.
