The effects of the closure of thousands of factories in China due to the new coronavirus are starting to be felt by Polish companies as deliveries of components are delayed, domestic production is slowed down and fewer line-production staff are needed. Sonia Buchholtz, an economics expert from the Polish Confederation Lewiatan, a business organisation representing employers' interests, told PAP that in the beginning, due to the Chinese New Year, this had no influence on Polish companies using Chinese components. "Suppliers had already calculated [for the holiday period] and built up stock, so at least in the beginning no effects were felt.
