Police split organised group of people smugglers as part of Bridge operation

As part of an operation called Bridge, the police have broken up a ten-member organised group of people smugglers, TARS learnt from Police Corps spokesperson Denisa Bardyova on Thursday. At least 80 people were transferred from Slovakia to Austria across the "green" border. The accused are facing imprisonment of seven to ten years if they are proved guilty. The group has allegedly operated at least since 2018. Its members have reportedly been not only Slovaks, but also foreigners from Arab countries, including Syria, Tunisia and Egypt with residence in the European Union.
