February 24th, 2020

The police have been raiding the Czech Labour and Social Affairs Ministry since Monday morning and have detained deputy minister heading the economy and IT sections Jan Balac and the head of the ICT security section, news portal Lidovky.cz has reported. Two employees of the ministry have been accused of scheming in placing a public contract and preparing a crime of abuse of power, state attorney Zdenek Matula, from the Prague High State Attorney's Office, said. The portal writes that the case concerns a contract for the ministry's information systems for 250 million crowns (EUR 10.0m).
