Police: Illegal migration down 41 pc in Slovakia in 2020

Police reported over the weekend that illegal migration in Slovakia declined by 40.9 percent year-on-year in 2020, while the number of illegal stays dropped by 41.3 percent. Meanwhile, a total of 283 foreigners applied for asylum in the country last year, a yearly increase of 56 applications. The number of registered illegal migrants stood at 1,295, with 264 of them seeking asylum in the country.
