Police ask Chamber to release SPD lawmaker for prosecution

The Czech police have asked the Chamber of Deputies to release MP Karla Marikova (opposition far-right Freedom and Direct Democracy, SPD) for criminal prosecution over her Facebook comments on migrants. The lower house mandate and immunity committee received the police request on Thursday and it will meet to deal with it next Tuesday, the committee's chairman Stanislav Grospic (Communists, KSCM) told CTK. Grospic noted he could not say more about the request as he must maintain confidentiality.
