Poles less positive about Catholic Church - poll

October 6th, 2020

Forty-nine percent of Poles share a good opinion about the Roman Catholic Church, according to a poll run in September by CBOS public opinion polling centre, down by 8 percentage points compared to the previous research conducted in March. Forty-one percent of those polled in September were dissatisfied with the Roman Catholic Church, up by 9 pps against the March poll. According to CBOS, opinions about the Roman Catholic Church activities are tied to religious beliefs and political preferences. Positive views are voiced by practicing respondents, especially those who attend religious practices a couple times a week, support the conservative ruling Law and Justice party (PiS) and with primary education.
