Poland unemployment likely to grow to 7-8 pc by end of 2020 - deputy PM

May 18th, 2020

Poland's unemployment rate is likely to rise to a level of 7-8 percent by the end of the year, deputy Prime Minister and Development Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz told Polish private broadcaster Radio Zet on Monday. Emilewicz said that earlier estimates were being corrected. "We are now talking about a growth to 7-8 percent," she said. In April, Labour Minister Marlena Maciag had said that a rise in Poland's unemployment rate to 10 percent by the end of the year was a realistic scenario.
