Poland's unemployment edges up to 5.5 percent in January

Poland's unemployment rate rose to 5.5 percent in January 2020 from 5.2 percent a month earlier, Deputy Family, Labour and Social Policy Minister Stanislaw Szwed said on Thursday. Szwed added that the ministry expects the country's jobless rate to decrease in the coming months. The number of unemployed people registered at labour offices in January amounted to 920,000, the deputy minister said.
