Poland's Senate unanimously passes act on coronavirus

The Senate (upper house) on Friday unanimously backed a special act introducing preventive measures against the spreading coronavirus. The act passed in a 74 to 0 vote with nine abstentions. The act, among other measures, introduces work-from-home options for quarantined employees and financial aid for staff in closed schools, kindergartens and creches. It also empowers provincial governors to ordain state administrative bodies and confers additional tasks upon the army.
