Poland returns to UN peacekeeping operation in Lebanon

After a ten-year break, Poland re-emerged as a UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon. On Friday, the 12th Mechanised Brigade from Szczecin set off for the Middle Eastern country as Poland's first shift on the UN mission. The Polish Military Contingent will become part of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak sees as "correcting the mistake that the then government made ten years ago."
