Poland reduces involvement in Afghanistan - minister

Poland will gradually reduce its military presence in Afghanistan in preparation for the 2014 conclusion of the NATO ISAF peacekeeping mission in the country, Polish Defence Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said Thursday in the Sejm (lower house). Currently around 2.5 thousand Polish ISAF troops are serving in Afghanistan. He said that Polish ISAF units will be depleted from 2,500 to 1,800 troops between October 2012 and October 2013.
