Poland's Q2 GDP drop among slightest in EU - Development Min

September 9th, 2020

Poland is the sixth best-coping EU economy in terms of economic contraction due to the coronavirus lockdown in the second quarter of 2020, the Development Ministry said in a Wednesday analysis. According to data presented by the EU's statistical office, Eurostat, on Tuesday, the euro zone's GDP slumped by 14.7 percent year on year in the second quarter of 2020, while the figure for the entire EU was a 13.9 percent decline. "Poland, with a drop of 7.9 percent, is the sixth economy with the smallest decline in the second quarter of this year in the whole EU, just behind Sweden," the ministry said.
