Poland's lower house passes fourth business relief package

June 5th, 2020

The Sejm (lower house) passed the 'Anti-Crisis Shield 4.0' on Thursday , the fourth economic relief package aimed at counteracting the coronavirus crisis, with measures including loan payment suspension and prolonged care allowance. Two hundred and twenty-eight MPs voted in favour of the bill, 189 were against and 38 abstained. People who lost their jobs during the crisis will be able to suspend loan payments for up to three months. The government has earmarked 570 million zlotys (EUR 129m) for subsidies to interest on loans, a move that is expected to generate loans worth 30 billion zlotys.
