Poland has exceeded the EU average of coronavirus vaccination doses given per 100 people, overtaking Germany and France, a government official has announced. The country started its vaccination programme just after Christmas when it began inoculating medical staff. "Poland has overtaken such countries as Germany, France, Portugal, Austria, Belgium, Finland and Spain as far as the coronavirus vaccination rate per 100 people is concerned," Michal Dworczyk, the head of the prime minister's office, wrote on Twitter.
