Poland's energy security not threatened - official

May 11th, 2020

Deputy Prime Minister and State Assets Minister Jacek Sasin said on Monday that, at the moment, Poland's energy security was not under threat and that Poland had large coal reserves. He admitted that coal extraction could be suspended in another one or two mines. Sasin was asked by Radio Plus about Poland's energy security in connection with problems facing Polish mines due to the coronavirus epidemic. In early May, the PGG Polish mining group suspended coal extraction in its three mines after a group of their employees tested positive for coronavirus.
