Poland's cities to get EU subsidies for 190 electric buses

January 30th, 2020

Polish cities will receive subsidies for the purchase of a further 190 electric buses, Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Malgorzata Jarosinska-Jedynak told a press conference on Thursday. "The authorities of the cities attach more and more attention to the improvement of quality of life of residents. Ecological and friendly public transport is slowly becoming the standard. Another 190 new electric buses will appear in Polish cities thanks to European Union funding," Jarosinska-Jedynak said. According to the ministry, the total value of projects funded within the competition is over PLN 668 mln (EUR 156.2 mln), including EU funding of PLN 460 mln (EUR 107.6 mln) as part of the EU's Infrastructure and Environment programme (POIiS).
