Poland's alcohol consumption record high last year

In 2019, the average Pole drank as much as 9.78 liters of pure alcohol, and alcohol consumption was the highest since 1993, when these statistics were first recorded, the Rzeczpospolita daily reported. According to the State Agency for the Prevention of Alcohol-Related Problems (PARPA), consumption went up by 0.23 liter in comparison to 2018, which was a significant increase over recent years, the daily said.
