Poland aims to lead initiative on offshore wind energy in Baltic Sea

September 3rd, 2020

Poland wants to build leadership in the Baltic Sea basin to develop offshore wind energy, in cooperation with the Baltic States and the European Commission, Climate Minister Michal Kurtyka said on Thursday. Kurtyka said he invited his counterparts from the Baltic States to discuss the matter and to create jointly, with the European Commission, a common initiative on developing the potential of the Baltic Sea. Kurtyka also observed that the development of wind power in the Baltic Sea was one of the directions in the transformation of Poland's energy sector.
