NATO countries have positively evaluated the Polish-US agreement signed in Washington in June, according to the Polish Defence Minister, Mariusz Blaszczak, who on Thursday attended a meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels. He told reporters afterwards that "the presence of US troops in Europe on the alliance's eastern flank strengthens NATO and deters a possible enemy ... this ensures Poland's security and that of the countries of the NATO's eastern flank, as well as the entire alliance." Blaszczak added that he met acting Pentagon head Mark Esper. "I was told that notwithstanding changes at the top, the mission remained the same. We have been implementing what we started last year. Now we are holding talks regarding details, which will fill up the political declaration signed by the Polish and US presidents."
