PM optimistic about Polish industry

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has expressed satisfaction with the growth of industrial orders, both for the domestic and foreign markets. "Polish industry has been posting optimistic data. In January, orders grew by 5.5 percent y/y - it is as much as 19.5 pct more than in December. The growth of export orders was even higher and reached 8.8 pct. The Polish economy is standing on stable legs and is ready for the next challenges," Morawiecki wrote on Twitter. The Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported this week that new industrial orders went up by 5.5 percent year on year in January after a 3.7 decline year on year in December. In monthly terms, the orders increased by 19.5 percent after a 3.1-percent decline a month earlier. New export orders grew by 8.8 percent year on year in January after 5.5-percent growth in December. Month on month, export orders surged by 19.4 percent after a 4.7-percent fall in December.
