Pirates, ODS's popularity drops in summer, CSSD, SPD rise - poll

October 1st, 2019

The senior government ANO movement is still the most popular party in Czechia, with 30 percent of supporters in September, followed by the Pirates and the Civic Democrats (ODS), both opposition parties whose popularity fell during the summer, according to a CVVM poll released today. The CSSD ended fourth, with 9.5 percent, and the SPD fifth, with 8.5 percent, in the September poll. Together with the SPD, the fifth position is occupied by the Communist Party (KSCM), which props-up the ANO-CSSD minority government in parliament. Its 8.5 percent result in September means a 0.5-percent decline as against June. No other party would cross the 5-percent parliamentary threshold if elections were held now, the poll showed.
