Pellegrini tells Michel he won't attend opening part of summit on EU budget

Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini will not attend the first part of the extraordinary EU summit on the European budget, slated to begin on February 20, TASR has learned. Pellegrini announced this after his talks with European Council President Charles Michel in Brussels earlier in the day. The Slovak prime minister apprised Michel of the fact that the campaign in Slovakia for the upcoming parliamentary election will be in high gear in mid-to-late February and there is a scheduling conflict between the EU summit and Pellegrini's slated participation in one of the televised debates.
