Pellegrini meets Jourova

Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini met EU Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality Vera Jourova on Friday morning, with the unscheduled meeting taking place before the start of the second part of the EU summit in Brussels. Pellegrini and Jourova discussed the current situation in Slovakia with an emphasis on the state of the judiciary. They agreed that the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary are at the heart of the functioning of any democratic society.
