Para: Bewildering that opposition politicians are under surveillance

It's quite bewildering that defence lawyers and opposition politicians are under surveillance in Slovakia, attorney Marek Para, who represents former police chief Tibor G., stated before a court session held to decide on the extension of custody for the defendants in the high-profile Purgatory corruption case on Tuesday. Para spoke in response to court-authorised and leaked surveillance videos from a cottage that show discussions between himself, Smer-SD chair Robert Fico, Tibor G.'s son, entrepreneur Miroslav Bodor, whose son is in police custody as one of the defendants, and former interior minister Robert Kalinak.
