Over 44,300 Russians live in Czechia, figure triples since 2004

The number of Russians has been rising in Czechia, 44,332 of them had a residence permit at the end of March and the number of Russians living in Czechia has tripled since the country joined the EU in 2004, the data of the Interior Ministry and the Czech Statistical Office show. More than a half of the Russian citizens in Czechia live there permanently. Russians make up 7 percent of foreigners with residence permit and the fourth largest foreign community.
