Over 100 lynxes live in Czech-Bavarian-Austrian territory

The monitoring of the lynx population showed that 107 adult beasts lived in a territory covering parts of Czechia, Bavaria and Austria in 2017 and 2018, the Czech Environment Ministry said in a press release on Friday. Tereza Minarikova, from Alka Wildlife, said nearly one-third of the lynx were mothers accompanied by cubs. "We spread a network of photo traps over the territory of 13,000 square kilometers to record the presence of lynx," the project coordinator, Simona Polakova, from the ministry, said. Nine institutions from Austria, the Czech Republic and Germany took part in the 3Lynx project.
