Opposition welcomes verdict ending election discrimination

February 3rd, 2021

The opposition welcomes that the Czech Constitutional Court has annulled a part of the election law for the violation of equality of suffrage and chances of the running entities, their representatives said on Wednesday. The general election is scheduled for October 8-9. According to the opposition, the change will correct the distorted election environment and remedy the existing discriminatory system. Simultaneously, the opposition calls for a constructive dialogue about a new wording of the election law.
