Operation Weeds continues with two more lawyers detained

The National Crime Agency on Wednesday, carrying out an operation codenamed Weeds 3, detained two lawyers identified only as Pavol K. and Dusan Ch. According to Police Corps Presidium spokeswoman Denisa Bardyova, both men face charges of corruption. "The case also concerns a judge who has been charged with accepting a bribe as well as another person from outside the judiciary that has been charged with bribery. The charges are related to a process revealing massive corruption schemes at courts in Zilina region. The actors in these machinations have been influencing criminal cases to the benefit of charged individuals in return for bribes," Bardyova explained.
