One dead, six injured in raft accident on river Sazava

One person died and six were taken to hospital after a rubber raft with several people capsized on the river Sazava southeast of Prague on Tuesday, regional medical rescue service spokeswoman Petra Homolova has told CTK. Three rescue helicopters intervened at the scene of the accident, which was reported to the medical staff at 11.30am. Underage persons were among those on the raft, Homolova said. The raft capsized on a weir. According to police spokeswoman Barbora Schneeweissova, a man from another boat jumped into the water to help the capsized raft's crew, but went missing afterwards. Schneeweissova did not confirm for the moment whether the man is the dead victim.
